"Love the window shots from Lisbon-they spark the senses!"

"I love its structural elegance, and the navigation is very easy. Each series is given a nice space to breathe, which really complements the work. There’s an Eastern minimalism about the images, a modesty and simplicity in design. Nothing feels overworked. I love the forest scene with the bird as central figure, dwarfed by the surroundings, yet somehow monumental nevertheless. Is it strange to say the images make me breathe easier?"

"Gisela's trees, flowers, people and buildings take me to a world full of peace and silence.

It's like a daydream and I love being there".

白昼夢のような世界に連れて行ってくれる彼女の写真。色を強調せず、でも彩がある不思議な作品だと思います。その確かな構図と、写真に映しだされる柔らかな世界は20年前から変わらず。。

" ... so elegant ... I love the Richmond Park and Epping Forest pieces."

Henry Martin, 2015 - https://www.henry-martin.com/

"Gisela's work seems to belong to another time and place. Faces, flowers, buildings, and trees are isolated by her lens.

Some subjects remain familiar and some appear strange, and all are fragmented and beautiful. In many ways, her lens sees the world like a child does; the patterns in folkloric forests, the shift of sunlight across the wall of a room, the shadow of the self on the ground in the noonday sun, or the sensual touch of a flower. The characters are always somewhere else, and life's busy distractions are somewhere else too. This lens finds its own reality, returning to the simple, quieter moments and freezing them for the future".

passion flower close-up black & white

Passion flowers take me to different places, from earth to the sea and to space. In its whites, purples and blues I find sea creatures and gentle aliens, ancient knowledge and fabulous dreams ...
